Building a Course Platform
at the Speed of Thought
A platform I manage entirely through AI — where a new product goes from vision to live in a day. This is my journey of building it, shared openly.
What
This is my public roadmap — tracking a real experiment where I'm building an entire course platform with AI, sharing every step openly.
Why
I want to build something remarkable. The journey matters as much as the outcome — I'm sharing openly, starting a conversation, figuring out what nobody has figured out yet.
Who
I'm Maik Frank — German, living in Singapore for 20 years. Leadership coach, father of four, with a background in IT, HR, and risk. 2,000+ coaching hours and an eternal experimenter.
Build Log
What happened each day — the decisions, the surprises, the learnings.

It is Friday evening, and I want to end the week on a hopeful note.
The platform is still in that familiar pre-launch state where everything feels a little messy. The soft launch is now close enough that I can feel the pressure in a very ordinary way. There are still open pieces. There are still decisions to make. There are still things that will probably look untidy until shortly before they come together.
And that is all right.
How I Did It
The practical version of this is simple: Codex has a `fork` command. I verified the local help surface during this draft pass. It can fork a previous interactive session by session ID, or fork the most recent one with `--last`. That is different from resume. Resume continues the same recorded path. Fork starts a separate path from the same earlier point. That distinction matters for longer AI work. Sometimes I do not want to keep correcting the same active thread. Sometimes I want to test another direction while preserving the earlier state as a clean option. I am starting to think of that less as a technical feature and more as a leadership habit for AI work: create a bounded experiment, observe it honestly, then decide whether it earns the right to become the main path.
Lesson learned:
Forking is useful when I want to test a direction without making the original conversation carry the consequences. Resume continues a path; fork creates a second path from the same earlier state. AI work sometimes allows a kind of experiment that normal team work cannot offer. The human still decides which version becomes the main path. The week before launch needs both discipline and small hopeful tools that reduce the cost of trying.
